Auction Terms

Last updated: 21 June 2026

These terms apply to every auction held by AATEEQ. By registering as a bidder and placing a bid, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to them.

1. Eligibility and Registration

To bid, you must:

  • create an AATEEQ customer account with a valid name and email address;
  • complete a one-time account verification, a small non-refundable charge of AED 2 that confirms a valid payment method and activates your bidding access across all auctions; and
  • provide accurate contact and shipping details.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. AATEEQ may verify the information you provide, and may decline or withdraw bidding access at its discretion. We handle your information in line with our Privacy Policy.

Bidding is open to all verified account holders. For delivery outside the UAE, please see section 8.

2. Bidding

  • All bids are binding offers to purchase and cannot be retracted once placed.
  • You may place a direct bid, or set an automatic (proxy) maximum, in which case the system bids on your behalf up to the limit you set.
  • The minimum bid increment is set for each item and shown on the auction.
  • Bidders are shown to one another only by a public bidding username, never by real name; usernames must not be offensive, misleading, or impersonate any person or brand.

Fair & halal bidding. Selling by auction (bay' al-muzayadah) is permitted in Islam, with precedent from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and we run every auction on that basis: no fake or inflated bids (najsh) and no seller bidding on their own lot; honest disclosure of condition and restoration; sale only by the rightful owner; any commission a clear service fee, never interest (riba); and every bid a binding commitment, for lawful items only. Provided for transparency; not a formal fatwa.

3. Reserve Price

  • Some items carry a confidential reserve price. The auction shows only whether the reserve has been met, not the amount.
  • If the reserve is not met, AATEEQ is not obliged to sell the item, but may choose to accept the highest bid at its discretion.

4. Results Are Provisional Until Confirmed

Winning an auction does not, by itself, complete a sale. A winning bid is provisional until both of the following have happened:

  • your identity and eligibility as the winning bidder have been verified; and
  • full payment for the item has been received.

Until a sale is confirmed in this way, any result shown or notified is an indication only and is not final. AATEEQ may withhold, cancel, or reassign a provisional result, including offering the item to the next highest bidder or relisting it.

5. Winning and Payment

  • If you are the winning bidder, you will be notified and given a secure way to complete your purchase through our standard checkout.
  • You must complete payment in full within 24 hours of the auction ending. AATEEQ may extend this period at its discretion.
  • If payment is not completed within this window, or if verification is unsuccessful, AATEEQ may cancel the winning bid and, at its discretion, offer the item to the next highest bidder or relist it.
  • Repeated failure to complete payment for items you have won may result in your account being restricted from future auctions.

6. Closing Time

Each auction closes at the scheduled end time shown on the item listing. Bids must be placed before that time; once an auction closes, no further bids are accepted and the highest qualifying bid wins, subject to the reserve where one applies (section 3) and to confirmation under section 4. Closing times are fixed and are not automatically extended, so please place your bids in good time.

7. Authenticity Guarantee

Every item auctioned by AATEEQ is covered by our authenticity guarantee, the same as items purchased directly from our store. See our Authentication Process.

8. Shipping and Delivery

Won items are shipped according to our standard Shipping Policy. Within the UAE, shipping is free on orders of AED 500 and above, with a delivery fee shown at checkout for orders below that. Our auctions are set up for delivery within the UAE by default. If you are bidding or ordering from outside the UAE, please contact us before bidding, and we will be glad to arrange a custom delivery solution and confirm any additional fees with you directly (these may be billed separately). Any customs duties or import charges remain the buyer's responsibility.

9. Conduct

AATEEQ reserves the right to remove bids, cancel or restart auctions, and restrict or ban bidders who engage in fraudulent, manipulative, or abusive behaviour.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UAE courts.
