An antique North Indian brass kajal dani / sindoor dani, traditionally used for storing and applying kajal, sindoor, or cosmetic powders. Dating to the early 20th century, the piece opens around a central pivot into three circular compartments, one fitted with a small mirror and others retaining traces of colored pigment.

The finely engraved handle is decorated with traditional chased motifs and a stylized peacock figure, a recurring symbol in Indian decorative brasswork. Both functional and ceremonial, pieces of this type were often associated with personal adornment and bridal trousseau traditions.
