This round charger is woven from genuine bamboo and finished with a printed illustration in the unmistakable style of early 20th-century Coca-Cola advertising, a soda fountain scene where a moustachioed server tends to an elegantly dressed Edwardian lady in coral silk and opera gloves, her plumed hat catching the light.
Produced in France by SiF, a manufacturer known for decorative bamboo-ware during the 1970s and early 80s, the piece carries two layers of history: a fifty-year-old French object, and the much older Belle Époque advertising aesthetic it preserves, right down to the "Trade Mark Reg'd" ribbon beneath the iconic Coca-Cola script.
