This charming 19th-century French table clock captures the romantic aesthetic of the Napoleon III era. Crafted by renowned horologist Japy Frères, this decorative timepiece combines function and form with its delicate angel motifs, floral accents, and gilded bronze details. Though originally intended for travel, it exudes elegance fit for any mantel or display.
The backplate bears the French inscriptions “Réveil” and “Mouvement,” highlighting its rare integrated alarm function. While it still produces a ticking sound when wound, it is not considered fully functional as a clock or alarm.
