A finely handcrafted brass Bagh Chal game board from Nepal, likely Kathmandu, dating to the late 20th century. Also known as “Tigers and Goats,” Bagh Chal is a traditional Nepalese strategy game played with four tigers against twenty goats on a 5 × 5 point grid.
The folding brass-clad board opens to form the playing surface and closes into a compact box, with an inner compartment designed to store the cast brass animal-form pieces. The surface is hand-engraved with floral borders, rosettes, and geometric detailing, giving the piece both functional and decorative appeal.
